Discover the naval dockyard from the National Navy Museum

Start at the Château de Brest, home to the National Navy Museum.

Standing at the mouth of the Penfeld, this fortress offers a prime vantage point overlooking the military port and the roadstead.

Soar over the Penfeld on the cable car

For a change of perspective, hop aboard the Brest cable car. In just a few minutes, it crosses the Penfeld, offering a bird’s-eye view of part of the naval dockyard.

Once across, take the time to explore the Ateliers des Capucins.

These former shipbuilding and repair workshops have been transformed into a vast cultural center open to the public. Their industrial architecture still bears witness to their past.

Highlights include the chance to admire the *Canot de l’Empereur* (Emperor’s Barge), built for Napoleon I.

Guided cruises allow you to sail the roadstead and view the military facilities and, depending on what is in port, certain French Navy vessels from the water.
