The most beautiful viewpoints in Brest and the surrounding area

Less than 20 minutes from the hotel

Discover five not-to-be-missed spots to enjoy the most beautiful panoramas of Brest and the surrounding area. You're in for a real treat!

Top 5 of the most beautiful viewpoints in Brest and the surrounding area

The Pointe du Petit Minou

A photogenic spot par excellence, the Pointe du Petit Minou and its red-topped lighthouse jut out into the sea, offering 180° views. It's even possible to climb to the top of the lighthouse for an even more exceptional panorama (times available from the tourist office).

📍 Address: Plouzané

The Explorers' Garden

This botanical garden in the heart of Brest pays tribute to the explorers of the 18th century. In addition to the wealth of plants from the four corners of the world, the Jardin des Explorateurs boasts a belvedere offering a magnificent view of Brest harbour.

📍 Address: 3 rue de la Pointe, Brest

The Rocher de l'Impératrice

This viewpoint has to be earned, as you'll have to climb for around 15 minutes to reach the top of the Rocher de l'Impératrice, 35m high. But you won't be disappointed: the panorama stretches from Brest harbour to the Elorn river. For the record, Empress Eugenie (wife of Napoleon III), is said to have lost a ring here, hence the name of the site.

📍 Address: 353 route du Rocher de l'Impératrice, Plougastel-Daoulas

The Brest cable car

This urban cable car is the first of its kind in France!  It links the two banks of the Penfeld river. The journey takes three minutes and gives you a unique view of Brest harbour and the city.

📍 Address: 353 route du Rocher de l'Impératrice, Plougastel-Daoulas
💶 Special cable car ticket: €2.20 return ticket

Albert Loupperel Bridge

Linking the Plougastel peninsula to Le Releck-Kerhuon, the Albert Louppe bridge is like a balcony over the Brest harbour. At 88m long, it is a favourite with locals and visitors alike, who come here to take their best shots of the harbour, the river Elorn and the Moulin-Blanc marina. Tip: go there at sunset!

📍 Address: Plougastel
